The Town of Carrboro filed a lawsuit against Duke Energy on Tuesday, alleging the company’s decades-long role in leading a nationwide climate deception scheme that worsened the climate crisis. The lawsuit also states that the corporation has harmed the community and cost the town millions of dollars.
